Looking for the classic American Buttermilk Pancake recipe? Here it is, just like mom used to make on weekends.

American Buttermilk Pancakes
Ingredients
- 2 c flour
- 1 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1¾ c buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions
- Preheat a lightly oiled griddle to medium-high heat.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Make a hole in the middle of the mound.
- In a separate bowl mix egg, buttermilk and oil. Pour milk mixture into flour mixture. Mix until moistened but not lumpy.
- Pour or scoop the batter onto the hot griddle. When batter appears to “bubble”, let it cook a few seconds then flip over and brown the other side.
