An Inner Change Happens When Our Core Values (Hearts) Align With Our Choices (Heads) To Create A Sense Of Purpose.

This alignment is important because it makes us come alive & creates a hope that empowers us to work toward a new future, with the motivation to overcome all obstacles along the way.

“Hope is the magic elixir that energizes dreams, fuels possibilities, and lets you live beyond the limits of your historical thinking. It is not a promise that something you want will happen — it is an invitation to enjoy the possibility of what you want while you and life negotiate the eventual outcome.”

Michael Neill, author of Supercoach: 10 Secrets to Transform Anyone’s Life.
core values and choices or goals give us hope when our heart and our head align

When we’re excited about making the changes we envision, we want to just GET OUT THERE & DO IT {but *maybe * this is the problem.} We need to take the time to plan effective goals that are going to get us where we want to be. We need to align our heads with the enthusiasm in our hearts so we can go the distance.

Step 1: How Am I Living By Those Core Values Now?

Make a list of ways you live by your core values now to see where the skills you’ve already acquired and find confidence to go even further to be the person you want to be.

This is an important step because it builds on your hope with the added faith that you can really do this because you’ve accomplished similar things in the past & use the skills required in other areas of your life.

Read over your core value word clusters and write a short paragraph about times when you made choices that are examples of living by those values. (Big & small.)

Over the next few days, take the time to write down more examples as they come to mind. This helps you to see your choices and actions in a new light that boosts your confidence. (Don’t focus on failures at this point. Push them right out of your mind and focus on confidence-building successes.)

By aligning your core values with confidence from past successes you will have the hope & passion of purpose you need to follow through with your goals.

Over the next day or two, WRITE DOWN at least one memory of each core value group if you can. (There may be an area you haven’t developed yet, and that’s okay.) This way can can refer to the story and meditate on it to increase your confidence whenever necessary.

Have fun with it!

Download the PDF of wooden frames, print it off and write one story in each frame. Put it up where you can see it or leave it on the nightstand to read every morning – or once a week – until you have the stories firm inside you to build your confidence.

Then move on to Step 2, setting SMART mini goals.

Mini goals are the perfect stepping stones to get you to finish line with your core values goals.

Tell us what you think.

Does looking back at past success increase your confidence in your ability to achieve new goals from the same core value?
