Creamy with bite, this horseradish cream sauce pairs well with beef, avocado, shellfish, eggs, sushi, chickpeas, and tomatoes.
A horseradish is a root vegetable in the cabbage family. It is used as a spice and grated as a condiment and can be made into a sauce.
Creamy Horseradish Sauce
- 1 c sour cream
- ¼ c horseradish, grated
- 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
- ½ lemon, juice and zest only
- 2 Tbsp fresh chives, finely sliced
- kosher salt and fresh black pepper, to taste
- In small bowl, combine sour cream, horseradish, mustard, lemon juice and zest, and fresh chives; add salt and pepper, to taste. Sauce can be prepared 1 day ahead of time and refrigerated.
