How have you been doing with the goals you set? Has your dedication waned – or has past success motivated you to keep going at 110%?
Don’t despair if everything hasn’t gone perfectly as planned.
It’s time to re-commit yourself to your goal.
Whether you’re pleased with your past successes or you need to pull up your bootstraps and get going, it’s always a good idea to stop and take stock.
Remind yourself why this resolution is meaningful, why it is important, why it’s something you just have to do.
Take a look at the times when you were tempted – especially if you gave into that temptation – and make a specific plan to deal with that temptation. Either rearrange your schedule so it won’t happen, or have a fool-proof escape plan – like talk to a friend – so its not more than you can handle.
Remind yourself of your success.
- What Small Significant Steps have you taken to make changes in your life?
- What negative messages have you been able to overcome so you could work towards your goal?
- What part of your plan have you been able to follow without a problem?
Remind yourself how much better your life will be when you’ve made the changes you’re working towards.
Stop, relax and take time right now to visualize your new life, the new you, after you’ve reached your goal.
January is over, but your resolutions aren’t. You want this. You can do this. Keep going. You’ve done one month – just 5 more until you’re a new you.
