Lucy works as a ticket booth operator at a Chicago train station. One day she saves the life of Peter, a passenger she has a crush on. He falls on the tracks, and ends up in a coma. Due to an error at the hospital, Lucy is identified as his fiancée. At the news of this his family take her in and treat her as one of their own. Things gets complicated, however, when she meets Peter’s brother, Jack.

Did you know? In a transition scene, a paper boy is shown slipping off his bike. This was actually an accident, but they decided to keep it in the movie. In fact, the paper boy actor broke his wrist.

In 1858, a bounty-hunter named King Schultz seeks out a slave named Django and buys him because he needs him to find some men he is looking for. After finding them, Django wants to find his wife, Broomhilda, who along with him were sold separately by his former owner for trying to escape. Schultz offers to help him if he chooses to stay with him and be his partner. Eventually they learn that she was sold to a plantation in Mississippi. Knowing they can’t just go in and say they want her, they come up with a plan so that the owner will welcome them into his home and they can find a way.

Written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, it is as violent as one expects. Rated R.

Did you know? The official premiere was cancelled in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting and was replaced with a screening for the cast and crew.

At the beginning of the movie Vivian, a prostitute tells Edward, the wealthy lawyer, “I don’t kiss on the mouth” in the beginning of the movie. So when she does kiss him, we know that she’s in love with him. We wait until the end of the movie for the most anticipated kiss when Edward conquers his fear of heights to climb a fire escape to “rescue” her – and she rescues him right back.

Did you know? The first script was called 3,000. It was a “gritty art movie” – not a romance at all. The ending featured Edward tossing Vivian out of the car in a dirty alley and throwing the money on her. Then Disney got the script and made Pretty Woman a princess movie.

Misanthropic TV weatherman/broadcaster, Phil Connors, is annoyed and despondent when he’s assigned the job of covering the annual Groundhog festivities in the small “Hick” town of Punxsutawney – making this his fourth in a row. The only noticeable upside is his attractive and good-natured producer. But the real nightmare begins when Phil ends up reliving the same day (Groundhog Day) over, and over again. Unable to leave the town due to a severe blizzard, and with no end in sight, Phil struggles to find a way to escape (and ultimately make the best of) his seemingly hopeless situation.
