One Millionth Cold Butterbeer Sold & Recipe for Warm Butterbeer

It has only been open since June, but they have already sold one million Butterbeers at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Orlando.
In celebration the park gave 1,000 free mugs of Butterbeer to visitors, shown above with Ric Florell from Universal Studios in front (with a Harry Potter scarf).  Don’t worry, the pints are safe for the wee ones.  This Butterbeer is a non-alcoholic butterscotch beverage that was given the official stamp of approval by JK Rowling herself.

Feeling left out?  Don’t!  We have this recipe for hot Butterbeer for you, because as you know it’s supposed to be warm.  (Since the theme park is in steamy Florida, the theme park’s butterbeer is sold frozen or cold.)

Or try the recipe produced by Wikimedia Laboratories:

  1. 1 pint vanilla ice cream, softened
  2. ¼ cup butter, softened
  3. ? cup brown sugar
  4. 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  5. 1 teaspoon grated nutmeg
  6. 1 quart apple cider (i.e. juice, non-alcoholic)

Just mix in a bowl and pour into mugs.  Serves 8.
Do you prefer your Butterbeer frozen, cold or warm?
