Every fall the Pumpkin Spice switch turns on! Since it’s chilly outside, the yearning for hot chocolate switches on too. Let’s satisfy two cravings at once with a Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate recipe.

This recipe is for a regular hot chocolate with the pumpkin spice touch.
If you want, you can substitute white chocolate chips for the cocoa, and use less pumpkin puree for a white pumpkin spice hot chocolate.
Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate

- 1 c whole milk
- ¼ c cream
- 1 tsp unsweetened dark cocoa powder
- ¼ c pumpkin puree
- ½ tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1 tsp maple syrup ((or 1 Tbsp sugar))
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp vanilla extract
- dollop whipped cream (optional)
- cinnamon stick (optional)
Add all ingredients except vanilla to a large saucepan.
Heat over medium-low heat, whisking continually until smooth.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
Serve in a large mug. Top with whipped cream. Sprinkle a little pumpkin pie spice on top and garnish with a cinnamon stick.
