The Mexican Avocado Industry Aligns with the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

The avocado industry in Mexico, led by the Association of Avocado Exporting Producers and Packers of Mexico, its registered packers and growers, and the Mexican Hass Avocado Importers Association, is committed to the sustainable development of the avocado-producing region in Michoacán.

Their members – and the industry’s prosperity – depend on environmental conservation of the soil, forests, and water. And the local Michoacán economic stability as well. The industry is committed to responsible avocado farming and sustainable practices that protect both the environment and the community while ensuring the high quality Mexican avocados.

That is why APEAM and MHAIA have aligned their avocado sustainability strategy with the UN 2030 Agenda and international regulations – to conserve their local forests and protect their natural resources and habitats.
